According　to　the　Xianning　Municipal　Forestry　Bureau　on　Tuesday，　the　recently　concluded　2026　Xianning　Marathon　achieved　zero　carbon　emissions　throughout　its　entire　course，　becoming　the　first　zero－carbon　event　in　the　province　supported　by　forestry　carbon　sinks．　It＇s　also　the　first　time　that　a　sports　event　in　Xianning　has　received　an　authoritative　carbon　neutrality　certification，　highlighting　the　innovative　achievements　of　the　integration　of　ecological　construction　and　sports　events　in　the　city．

The　event　achieved　carbon　neutrality　by　establishing　a　green　closed　loop　of　＂scientific　accounting　－　strict　verification　－　precise　offset＂：　Hubei　Zhongtan　Asset　Management　Co．，　Ltd．　calculated　carbon　emissions；　Fangyuan　Certification　Group　Hubei　Co．，　Ltd．　verified　the　data；　the　Forestry　Bureau　of　Tongshan　County　and　others　donated　701　tons　of　carbon　equivalent　（Hubei　Forestry　carbon　tickets）　to　fully　offset　emissions；　and　the　carbon　neutrality　certificate　was　ultimately　issued　by　the　Hubei　Carbon　Emission　Rights　Trading　Center．

The　carbon　sink　used　for　offsetting　this　time　came　from　the　first　Hubei　Forestry　carbon　ticket　issued　in　September　2025　（with　a　development　area　of　8，444.06　hectares　and　a　reduction　of　148，000　tons　in　the　first　calculation　period），　which　is　a　direct　manifestation　of　the　achievements　of　forestry　ecological　protection　in　Xianning．　In　the　future，　Xianning　will　continue　to　deepen　the　development　and　utilization　of　forestry　carbon　sinks，　expand　the　application　scenarios　of　＂carbon　tickets　＋　zero－carbon　activities＂，　and　contribute　to　the　city＇s　green，　low－carbon　and　high－quality　development．　（Xianning　Daily／Huang　Zhu）
