From　July　26th　to　30th，　the　Go　and　Chinese　chess　competitions　of　the　17th　Hubei　Provincial　Games　for　the　youth　sports　category　（Social　Club　Group）　were　successfully　held　in　Xiaogan　City．　Xianning　has　selected　39　young　athletes　to　participate　in　the　competition．　All　the　young　players　remained　calm　and　composed，　vying　for　the　lead．　They　competed　on　the　same　stage　with　chess　players　from　all　over　the　province　and　won　one　silver　medal　and　three　bronze　medals．

At　the　competition　site，　the　young　chess　players　from　Xianning　were　concentrating　intently　and　carefully　placing　their　pieces．　In　the　chessboard　matches　and　the　Chu－Han　confrontations，　they　engaged　in　a　battle　of　wits　and　handled　each　round　of　the　game　with　caution，　fully　demonstrating　the　composed，　pragmatic，　and　proactive　spirit　of　the　young　chess　players　in　the　city．

This　event　is　a　concentrated　test　of　the　competitive　level　of　youth　chess　in　the　province　and　also　provides　a　high－level　platform　for　young　chess　players　from　all　over　the　province　to　exchange　and　compete．　The　competition　results　achieved　in　the　17th　Provincial　Games　are　a　phased　outcome　of　the　city＇s　long－term　efforts　to　popularize　and　promote　youth　chess　events　and　cultivate　talents．　Next，　the　city　will　continue　to　improve　the　training　system　for　young　chess　reserve　talents，　discover　and　cultivate　outstanding　chess　talents，　inherit　and　promote　traditional　chess　culture，　and　contribute　to　the　high－quality　development　of　chess　projects　throughout　the　city．　（Xianning　Daily／Mao　Yaxuan）
