Jiayu County’s Operas Won Seven Provincial Awards 10-10-26

  On 25, according to the Bureau of Retired Veteran Cadres, in the just ended Sixth Hubei Province Middle-aged and Elderly People Art Competition and the Opera Singing Contest, Jiayu sent a number of traditional operas, and gained the most awards among all county-level teams of Hubei Province with seven awards totally.

  In this art competition, Jiayu County Elderly Troupe gained the “Outstanding Organization Award”. In this troupe, Ding Shengbing and Yang Zufu who respectively sang the Chu Opera Hiding the Boat and Farewell to a Friend both gained Silver Award, and Cheng Zaiying who sang the Chu Opera The Jade Hairpin won a Bronze Award. Zhou Chunlan from Jiayu County Opera Fan Association sang the Han Opera The Tale of the White Serpent won a Gold Award, Jin Zhou who sang the Peking opera Caught Cao Cao and then Let Him Go and Zhang Yixiu who sang the Peking Opera Seventeen Years excerpted from The Red Lantern won Bronze Award.

  The Sixth Hubei Province Middleaged and Elderly People Art Competition and the Opera Singing Contest were jointly organized by the Hubei Provincial Office on Aging and the Hubei Provincial Department of Culture and a total of more than 100 contestants from all over the province had participated in.
