In Jiayu Dahe modern agricultural science and technology demonstration garden, because of too high temperature in the greenhouse, the damp curtain ventilator is used to form convection to cool the greenhouse quickly. And for lack of humidity, through damp curtain ventilator with water vapor the air can be rehydrated quickly so that local microclimate in the greenhouse can adjust itself freely under intelligent operating system. From then on, Jiayu has broken traditional agriculture mode and broaden the way of increasing farmers’ income.
On the 6th, the rain which had been on for several days finally stopped, and the sunshine was so warm.
In the shed of Hubei Dahe modern agricultural science and technology demonstration garden located on the southwestern shore of Xiliang Lake of Guanqiao Town, Chen Huiyou, together with other workers, started to work early in the morning.
“What fine weather it is! Why not water those seedlings?” Chen said. And as she was watering the melon seedlings, she was also observing how they were going on.
The small light bulbs hanged above the seedlings were brought to our attention. Then after the detailed explanation of Chen Hao, the chairman of Demonstration Garden, we came to understand that those light bulbs were called plant fill light, regulating the light and adjust the speed of crop growth according to crop growth conditions.
“With them, we are able to nurture the crop seedlings according to our own needs.” Chen said with a smile.
“This year it is so cold; but thanks to the three-layer insulation technology, these tomato seedlings can grow so well.” The general manager He Xiaoping said in another shed. Meanwhile he and other workers were uncovering the plastic film to make those seedlings have a breath of fresh air. “It is sunny today, the temperature being a little high. If we didn’t open the films timely, those seedlings couldn’t bear the heat and would be dead. ” He said. Soon all the films in the shed were opened, and the young seedlings were so green.
Afterwards He Xiaoping brought us to a flower shed at the back of demonstration garden. He showed that scindapsus aureus and poinsettia were being cultivated. And the growth of those green plants was very gratifying. Scindapsus aureus and poinsettia which were distributed at upper and lower levels had already marketed, and the sales was increasing.
“Not only can we make a high profit in cultivating flowers, but also this method can extend the industrial chain of our garden.” General Manager He Xiaoping said, while picking up a pot of scindapsus aureus.
After we came back to the garden office, behind a shed came the pounding and knocking because workers Wang Dengshou and Chen Shengli were debugging the installed damp curtain ventilator.
“This damp curtain ventilator has very strong function, under whose control the proper air humidity, appropriate temperature and local microclimate can become possible, and thus the crops can be protected in the best environment for growth.” Wang Dengshou said. Currently, there are two greenhouses installed with this magic damp curtain ventilator.
Then coming to Chen Hao’s office, we found he was discussing something with the leaders from the County Technology Bureau. It turned out that this year the garden was planning to cultivate seedlings in a industrialized and mechanized way. “ I have been inspected in many productive places and i find mechanized cultivation is becoming more and more popular now. Not only can it save time and strength, but also improve the survival rate of seedlings and the ability to resist natural disasters.” Chen Hao said and sipped his tea. Looking out the window of the shed, he was looking forward to a whole new Dahe embracing modern science and technology.

However, guarantee and support from the government and related departments are indispensable to aid farmers to develop agriculture and become rich through science and technology, so as to strengthen scientific and technological innovation and break through the bottleneck of agricultural science and technology.
County Commission, County Government and County Technology Bureau in Jiayu opened the green channel for agriculture, rural areas and farmers on project and technology under the national project of making farmers richer and get counties better. Dahe was taken as a core to develop 10000 acres of pollution-free, standardized vegetable production. Then with technical support from Science and Technology Bureau, they helped Jiayu achieve industrialized and mechanized cultivation and accelerate the development of agriculture achievements transformation project. In addition, the introduction of new varieties of vegetables and fruits has raised people’s living standards. In a word, the move is worth learning.
We are pleased to see that, Models such as the Dahe modern agriculture project has already taken root in the southern earth of Hubei and made a solid step in the modernization of agriculture.
