Xianning to hold “selling quality-assured meat and vegetable” activity 17-03-27

  XIANNING - Since this March Xianning has held “selling quality-assured meat and vegetable” activity directed against large or medium supermarkets to guarantee safety of “vegetable basket”, according to Xianning Food and Drug Administration.

  Xianning will execute to the letter market access system to control “entrance” of meat and vegetable. Vegetables without quality release must take rapid detection and will not be allowed to sell until qualified. Frozen meat without inspection and quarantine certificate mustn’t be sold in the market.

  Establish the whole process “meat and vegetable” traceability system to ensure the quality control in the whole process. Large supermarkets will popularize “meat and vegetable” electronic traceability system, and promote upstream suppliers and downstream catering units to join the electronic traceability system. Large supermarkets should establish and execute “meat and vegetable” supplier qualification examination system, regularly checking food security status of suppliers and clearing up suppliers who can’t guarantee safety of “meat and vegetable”.

  Optimize “meat and vegetable” logistics distribution chain to establish modern circulation system. Large or medium supermarkets and “meat and vegetable” suppliers should adopt modern transportation and preservation measures, strengthen infrastructure construction for transportation, storage, processing, packaging and preservation of “meat and vegetable”, and actively explore new type circulation format of “centralized purchasing, unified inspection, detection and distribution”.

  Implement “meat and vegetable” safety information publicity system. “Meat and vegetable” in small packet must have label marking name, producing area, storage condition, packaging date and expiration date. “Meat and vegetable” in bulk should mark name, producing area, specification, grade on the booth, and publicize certificate of qualification if have. Meat products should publicize inspection and quarantine certificate, and imported “meat and vegetable” must publicize the Inspection and Quarantine Certificate of Entry Goods.
