　　On Feb.2th,2010, the City Forestry Department said that the forestry industries in our city developed rapidly last year, the output value of forestry-related industries reaching RMB2.88 billion Yuan, and gradually formed eight special industries such as bamboo processing, forestry board and forestry paper, flowers and trees and so on.

　　In the process of transferring from traditional forestry to modern forestry, our city paid attention to playing the leading role of leading enterprises. By introducing a leading enterprise and extending the industrial chain, new industry was formed one after another.

　　The forestry industry is one of the competitive industries whose development has been given special support by our city. In August last year, the first National Forestry Science and Technology Industrial Park settled in Xianan district. By integration and introduction, the Forestry Science and Technology Industrial Park will implement the forestry industry development strategy of "Trinity", and construct fast growing and high-yield forest raw material base in the upper reaches, substrate manufacturing in the middle reaches and floor processing industrial chain in the lower reaches. The Forestry Science and Technology Industrial Park will finish building the forestry industry cluster led by the Juning Forestry Industry within three years, and will form economics of scale with an annual output value of 5 billion and profits and taxes of 500 million.

　　In 2008, our city introduced Shangdong Chenming Paper Holdings Limited and made it invest billions of dollars to construct forestry-pulp-paper integration project. By closely connecting pulping and papermaking, forestry base construction and forestry resources cultivation, and implementing forest-paper integration, seeding, afforestation harvesting and wood processing, pulping and papermaking integrated management was formed. Last year, 150 million yuan was paid, and we successfully completed the task of 1 million acres of forestland circulation.

　　Bamboo resources are very rich in our city, accounting for eighty percent in our province. In order to transfer the advantages in resources to economic advantages, our city has expanded great effort in attracting business transactions and foreign investment, and has speeded up the implementation of bamboo industry intensive processing project. After the Boyou Bamboo settled in the development zone, 580 million yuan is planned to be invested, and 400,000 acres of forest land will be circulated to construct high-yield bamboo. We shall also research and develop high-grade floor, bamboo fiber, bamboo charcoal and other high-tech products. In May of this year, the first production line will be put into operation, and the largest bamboo products export base will be built in central China within five years.

　　At present, forestry characteristic base in our city has grown to 3.5 million acres, including 60,000 acres of osmanthus, whose number of varieties, flower quality, number of ancient trees and other key indicators all rank the first in the country. Flowers and trees, kiwi, bamboo of other types exceeded 60,000 acres, reaching one of the province’s top.

　　Led by the leading enterprises, many emerging forest industries have developed rapidly. And eight special industries have gradually formed, such as bamboo industry, forest board, forest paper, flowers and trees, forest food industry, forest tourism industry, osmanthus fragrans industry and traditional Chinese medicine industry. The number of forestry industry enterprises of the city has grown to 500, including 12 provincial forestry industrialization leading enterprises.
