Taiyi Cave Scenic Area is located in Shiwu Mountain 5 kilometers away from the Wenquan District of southwest Xianning. It is 86 kilometers from Wuhan with very convenient traffic between them. The cave has come into being for around 3.6 million years, legend has it that the Taoist Taiyi dug it to control water for people.

　　　　The main hole of Taiyi Cave reaches a length of 2,000 meters. There are over 48 scenic spots like stalactites, stalagmites, and 48 scenic spots such as Taoist Taiyi Statue, Sword leveling off hilltops, Shepherd Su Wu, God-given Drum, Grand Great Wall, Wolong pool, Lotus Seat of Buddhism Goddess Guanyin, Pearl Tower and many others. Among them, Taiyi Taoist Statue, Gog-given Drum, Wolong Pool and Natural Waterfall are the four attractions named” Four Treasures in Cave”. There is also a hall that can hold about 10 thousand people in the cave, so that we can see beautiful scenery of the hall in the cave. The wonderful scenery of Taiyi Cave is as extraordinary as if done by the spirits, and it is known as” the First Cave in Hubei Province". National Tourism Bureau Director Liu Yi and famous Chinese calligrapher Zhao Puchu have written inscriptions for it. The cave is well-known for its beautiful, peculiar and refined features. The trend of the cave is in north-south direction, and it goesthrough both ends naturally from the beginning to the end. Its 5 branch caves are in southeast direction, and the total length of them is about 1800 meters. In these caves, there is the open hall can accommodate 10 thousand people, as well as winding alleys whose highest point is about 20 meters and the widest is 30 meters. The stalactites hang upside down and stone pillars stand together like a forest, which make these caves like a fairyland. The lifelike Taiyi Statue, prolonged music of Gog-given Drum, Sitting Parrot, tremendous waterfall, imposing Pearl Tower, stalagmite groups and Wolong Pool are extraordinary attractions that make us gasp with admiration.

　　　 The newly developed cave——Dragon Palace Cave, boasts winding paths, fossils of beautiful snakes, dinosaur lairs, ground-breaking, a line to heaven, god frog with dragon are peculiar. The outside spot of Tai Yi Cave is Tai Yi Temple.
