　　On the morning of January 18, according to the province's Working Conference of Agricultural Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic, the city is actively creating a new situation in the agricultural foreign affairs and foreign economic work. The preliminary plan of agricultural investment in 2007 is to reach 250 million yuan and the actual utilization of foreign capital is 2.8 million dollars. Liu Yanqi, leader of the city, spoke at the meeting. 　

　　The city's agricultural investment has made gratifying achievements. The amount of the agreement on agricultural areas of domestic investment in 2006 reached 206 million yuan, an increase of 25%, among which, 136 million yuan was available, and the financial capital availability ratio was 66%. The vegetable processing project of Korea Shitian Farm was introduced into Jiayu County and it is the largest agricultural foreign investment project in recent years. The city's yearly use of foreign capital of agriculture topped 2 million dollars for the first time.

　　The year 2007 is the key year for the full implementation of the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan". The city will enhance efforts on the agricultural investment promotion, focus on the investment promotion of advantageous agricultural products and characteristic agricultural resources, such as vegetables, fruits, tea, high-quality rice, sweet-scented osmanthus, and bamboo shoots, develop agricultural product processing industries, and promote the industrialization process of agriculture. It will focus on the investment promotion of the leading agricultural enterprises and agricultural products processing enterprises with export potential, and accelerate the pace of expansion of enterprise scale and technical transformation. It will enlarge the production capacity and enhance product quality, and enhance the competition of product in market. It will focus on foreign direct investment, and promote the export of agricultural products.

　　Liu Yanqi emphasized that the agricultural investment needed to do the project packaging well, increase project publicity, and strengthen foreign cooperation by a variety of ways and in various forms. We should focus on doing well the recommendation, training and designation of foreign-aid personnel, organizing enterprises to go abroad to study, introducing capital, talent, advanced technology, superior varieties and pioneering in foreign countries. We should actively participate in the Wuhan Economic Circle construction, strengthen business cooperation and connection, and promote agricultural products to enter the Wuhan market and to march into the international market.
