In recent days, Hubei Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism published the list of the 5th batch of the representative inheritors of the Hubei provincial intangible cultural heritage project. 3 people from Xianning, including the representative inheritor of “Tongcheng gong playing opera” project, Zhang Liwu, the representative inheritor of “dark tea processing technique (Zhaoliqiao brick tea production technique)” project, Quan Wei, and the representative inheritor of “black tea production technique (Yangfanglin Yao Mountain black tea processing technique)” project, Fang Suzhen, are listed.

The representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage projects are significant bearers and passers of intangible cultural heritage, and they are the symbolic figures who pass on the intangible cultural heritages dynamically and master oceans of knowledge and proficient skills and techniques about intangible cultural heritages.

With a commitment to the people-centered principle, Xianning City has insisted on motivating and giving supports to the representative inheritors of intangible cultural projects to launch activities regarding passing on and spreading relevant knowledge and skills, in order to put the intangible cultural heritage protection and inheritance work into actual action, and propel the creative transformation and innovative development of traditional culture. Up till now, there are 3 national representative inheritors, 20 provincial representative inheritors, 63 city-level representative inheritors and 123 county-level representative inheritors in Xianning City.
