In the afternoon of Apr 11th, Hubei “Red Literary and Art Light Cavalry” Cultural Poverty Relief Art Performance visited Banqiao Village, Dafan Town, Tongshan County, providing the villagers with a grand cultural feast.

This activity is hosted by Hubei Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and jointly held by Hubei Cultural Activity Planning Center and Xianning Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism.

Before the show started, the actors and local people made concerted efforts to put on a musical flash mob program called “My Motherland and Me”, followed by 13 programs of distinguished characteristics, such as the northern big drum opera “rolling up our sleeves to work harder”, the flower drum opera “striving to give Mr.Zhang a treat”, which made the audiences indulge themselves in it.

A villager of Banqiao Village, Zhang Xiaojian said: “Now we have got rid of poverty. The material life of villagers has been much improved, meanwhile their spiritual life has also been more colorful, and we all feel so proud of it and much more motivated towards striving for our future life.”

Another villager of Banqiao Village, Liu Heming said: “The red literary and art light chivalry brought us both joy and culture; they truly bring the policies of benefiting people through culture to the grass-roots level, and deliver the love and care of the Party and government to the masses.”
