The Party Secretary Ding Xiaoqiang on Wednesday met with Abdul Halim Abd Samad, Deputy Speaker of the Upper House of Parliament of Malaysia who attends 2019 Belt and Road Initiative Forum for International Tea Industry Development and the Fifth China Tea Industry Conference in Team 8 of Guanqiao Village, Jiayu County.
Ding said that this forum and conference promote more Chinese tea to go global and make more consumers in the world love Chinese tea closely around the theme of “letting tea integrate into ‘Belt and Road Initiative’, the world fall in love with Chinese tea”. It’s both a gathering for exchanges and mutual learning, sales exhibition, business cooperation, negotiation and signing of contract, and a grand meeting for deepening understanding, enhancing friendship and seeking common development. During this period Xianning held a series of activities and achieved fruitful results, such as tea industry development forum, tea expo, tea culture party, the opening ceremony of China Black Brick Tea Museum, etc. Particularly, it further deepened the relationship between Xianning and its sister cities, Labuan and Sibu, Malaysia, laying a foundation for next deep cooperation.
Ding hopes Deputy Speaker Abdul Halim Abd Samad and other guests can introduce what is heard and seen in Xianning to more Malaysian people after returned home, letting more new friends know Xianning, like Xianning and visit Xianning, so as to act as a go-between for promoting cooperation between local governments and friendly people-to-people exchanges to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. Xianning will take this forum and conference as an opportunity to deepen exchange and cooperation in economy and trade, tourism, education, spots and culture, jointly opening new journey of win-win cooperation in new era and making its due contribution for facilitating Sino-Malaysia friendly cooperation to reach a new level.
Abdul Halim Abd Samad expressed his hearty congratulations to successfully holding 2019 Belt and Road Initiative Forum for International Tea Industry Development and the Fifth China Tea Industry Conference. He said that he fully felt the profound tea cultural deposits in Xianning through field visit and exchange, and he believed Xianning’s tea industry will get further development in the future and make a contribution to the “Belt and Road Initiative” and the development in Southeast Asia region. Also he sincerely invited Xianning to join 2020 Year of Tourism in Malaysia, wishing both sides have a long live friendship.
