The project of the South Campus of Wuhan Donghu University has received an approval and is planned to start construction in September， 2020， according to Hubei Government Affairs Service Network on June 28.

The South Campus of Wuhan Donghu University is located on Tianye Avenue， Guanqiao Town， Jiayu County， with an investment of 1.9 billion yuan， a land area of 2476.72 mu and a total construction area of about 610，000 square meters.

Wuhan Donghu University is a full-time undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. Formerly known as Donghu branch campus of Wuhan University， which was founded in 2000， it is one of the four earliest independent colleges in China. Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2011， it was converted and renamed to Wuhan Donghu University.
