The 40th World Food Day falls on Oct 16, and this week is China’s Food Security Awareness Week. The COVID-19 epidemic continues to spread globally this year, and the global food supply order faces serious challenges. The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has designated this year's theme of World Food Day global activity as: grow together, prosper together, continue together. Action makes the future. The theme of China's food security publicity week is to secure China's rice bowl and jointly build global food security.

This year, in the face of the COVID-19 epidemic, the city food system aims for the target of "people can buy food" and "the market price of grain and oil is not higher than the same period last year", grain reserves, processing and supply sectors going all out to guarantee market supply and steady market, and a decisive victory in grain and oil supply was achieved. At present, the city has full grain storage, adequate reserves, and abundant supply.

Focusing on food security situation, grain production and circulation policies and technologies, food conservation knowledge and other aspects, this food security publicity week activity will be full swing in schools, offices, villages, communities and enterprises.
