Recently, General Office of Ministry of Natural Resources issued a notice on the list of pilot projects for comprehensive land improvement across the country, including 20 towns of Hubei province, such as Tiancheng Town (Chongyang County) and Guanqiao Town (Jiayu County) in Xianning.
Guided by the territorial spatial planning, the comprehensive national land improvement project implements comprehensive territorial and spatial management in idle and inefficient areas, ecological degradation and environmental damage areas, including rural land space management, farmland improvement, idle and inefficient construction land renovation, mine geological environment improvement, rural environment renovation and ecological restoration, rural land greening and beautification, etc. In 2019, Hubei province issued the Opinions on Promoting Region-based Comprehensive Land Improvement, and has become the second province after Zhejiang to issue a document to deploy the comprehensive control of the whole territory. The pilot will effectively promote the protection of cultivated land and the conservation and intensive use of land, solve the problems of cultivated land fragmentation, disorder, low efficiency and ecological degradation, improve the rural ecological environment, promote the integrated development of the three industries, and boost rural revitalization.
