On April 23， the Office of the National Leading Group for Cracking down on Infringement and Counterfeiting organized a move to destroy infringing，counterfeit and shoddy products in 16 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities). The main venue is located in Xianning City， Hubei Province， while the branch venues are set up in 15 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities)， including Beijing， Hebei， Shanxi， Inner Mongolia， Jilin， Shanghai， Jiangsu， Shandong， Henan， Hunan， Guangdong， Guangxi， Chongqing， Guizhou and Gansu. Gan Lin， director of the Office of the National Leading Group for Cracking down on Infringement and Counterfeiting and Deputy Director of the State Administration for Market Regulation， came to the main venue and launched the ceremony. Zhang Wenbing， head of Hubei Leading Group for Cracking down on Infringement and Counterfeiting and vice governor， delivered a speech. Representatives of Chinese and foreign trademark holders spoke.
This move is an important supporting event of the National Intellectual Property Week in 2021. According to statistics， the destroyed products have more than 30 categories and more than 200 varieties， including infringing，counterfeit and shoddy epidemic prevention materials， food and drugs， clothing， shoes and hats， building materials and appliances， tobacco and alcohol， mechanical equipment， chemical products of everyday use， publications， etc.， weighing nearly 2000 tons and worth more than 700 million yuan. The move shall be carried out in accordance with the law by means of incineration， landfill and disassembly， which is in line with the relevant regulations on energy saving and environmental protection.
Relevant people of CPC Publicity Department， the Ministry of Public Security， the Ministry of Ecology and Environment， the Ministry of Culture and Tourism， the General Administration of Customs， the Supreme People's Procuratorate， the State Administration for Market Regulation， and other member units of the national leading group for cracking down on infringement and counterfeiting， relevant responsible persons of member units for cracking down on infringement and counterfeiting in Hubei Province and Xianning City， officials of Italian and French embassies in China， relevant trade associations， representatives of trademark holders， and Chinese and foreign journalists attended the event in the main venture. A total of more than 2000 people from 16 venues participated in the move.
