Central China Regional Greenhouse Gas & Carbon Neutrality Monitoring and Assessment Center on Wednesday was inaugurated in Jinsha national atmospheric background station in Chongyang County.
Jinsha national atmospheric background station is located in Team 4 of Meihua Village, Lukou Town, Chongyang County, founded in 2005; it is one of the seven atmospheric background stations built by China Meteorological Administration in the whole country and the only atmospheric background station in Central China, whose observation data represents the atmospheric background characteristics of Central China and the two lakes region, and it is the backbone station network of atmospheric composition observation in China. The observation contents include greenhouse gases, aerosols, reactive gases, acid rain, radiation, etc.
The establishment of the monitoring and evaluation center will effectively enhance the scientific and technological support capacity for green, low-carbon and high-quality development in Central China and Hubei province, and contribute to the province's response to climate change and the realization of carbon neutrality goals.
