The list of 2021 comprehensive demonstration counties for e-commerce into rural areas was announced, according to Xianning Municipal Commerce Bureau on July 29. A total of six counties (cities) in Hubei province were on the list, of which Chongyang County was selected. It is also the fourth national demonstration county (city) after Tongshan County, Chibi City and Tongcheng County.

Since 2014, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Finance have jointly launched a comprehensive demonstration of e-commerce into rural areas, aiming at further promoting the e-commerce into rural areas, boosting the effective connection of production and consumption in urban and rural areas, and comprehensively advancing rural revitalization.

The demonstration counties (cities) will receive special national financial support on perfecting the rural e-commerce public service system, improving the three-level logistics and distribution system of county, township and village, promoting the transformation and upgrading of rural business enterprises, and cultivating entrepreneurial leaders of rural e-commerce.

For talents training, demonstration counties (cities) can establish courses such as product packaging, photography, live commerce, and online store operation, strengthen practical skills training for qualified returning migrant workers, college students, veterans, cooperative members, and give full play to the demonstration and leadership of getting rich by e-commerce.

For infrastructure, demonstration counties (cities) can increase rural e-commerce stations, build and transform county-level logistics distribution centers and township logistics stations, support influential e-commerce, postal service, express and chain business enterprises to expand their supply chains into rural areas, and create a modern circulation service system that meets the needs of local consumers.
