Xianning Administration for Market Regulation took advantage of summer vacation time to carry out a special rectification action for the sale prohibition of alcohol to minors among food business owners around the campus in the city, urging them to improve the sense of responsibility, strengthen daily management, and care for the physical and mental health of minors.
This action focused on the food business owners around primary and secondary schools and kindergartens in the city. It adopted the mode of house-to-house check and propaganda of popularizing law, inspecting the food business qualification and food quality control of each food business owner, and publicizing the regulations of alcohol shall not be sold to minors in The Law on the Protection of Minors. The warning signs “the sale prohibition of alcohol to minors” were handed out for free to all food operators involved in alcohol in the city, and the liquor business owners were guided to post the signs in the eye-catching position of the business site.
So far, a total of 2,312 copies of propaganda material were handed out and 1,879 warning signs posted in the action. 19 notices of ordering to correct were issued, and all the rectification has been in place at present.
According to the official of Xianning Administration for Market Regulation, they will intensify oversight and inspection, integrate the action for the sale prohibition of alcohol to minors into routine law-enforcement inspection, and timely sort out the problems found in supervision work. The business units that refuse to implement or correct and still sell alcoholic products to minors shall be subject to administrative punishment in strict accordance with the Law on the Protection of Minors and other laws and regulations; if the circumstances are serious, they shall be handed over to public security organs for investigation.
