The　first　award－giving　meeting　for　＂Tang　Cheng　Novel　Award＂　was　held　in　Ganlu　village　creative　training　base　in　Henggouqiao　town　of　Xian＇an　district，　Xianning　on　January　12．　A　number　of　well－known　writers，　literature　lovers　and　leaders　of　relevant　departments　from　the　city　attended　the　meeting．

The　conference　aims　to　reward　the　city＇s　outstanding　writers　who　have　achieved　fruitful　creative　achievements　and　promote　the　development　of　local　literature．　The　＂Tang　Cheng　Novel　Award＂　was　funded　by　Mr．　Chen　Jinpeng，　a　famous　writer　in　Xianning　City．　Four　categories　of　novel，　novella，　short　story　and　fiction　criticism　were　created　to　encourage　different　types　of　literary　creation．

After　the　judges＇　primary　and　final　selection，　Ruan　Xihe＇s　＂Bougainvillea＂　won　the　Novel　Award，　Li　Yaolong＇s　＂Snow　Falls　on　Cloud　Mountain＂　won　the　Novella　Award，　Shen　Ming＇s　＂Menopause＂　won　the　Short　Story　Award，　and　Zheng　Anguo＇s　＂Authentic　Local　Narration　and　Multidimensional　View　of　Human　Nature＂　won　the　Fiction　Criticism　Award．

The　chairman　of　Xianning　Fiction　Institution　said　in　his　speech　that　the　award　ceremony　is　a　literary　feast　and　a　testimony　of　the　confidence　in　the　future　development　of　Xianning＇s　literary　circle．　It　is　hoped　that　the　establishment　of　＂Tang　Cheng　Novel　Award＂　can　further　stimulate　the　creative　enthusiasm　of　more　young　writers　and　promote　the　improvement　of　the　level　of　literary　creation　in　Xianning．　At　the　same　time，　it　is　also　expected　that　more　social　forces　will　participate　in　this　meaningful　activity　in　the　future，　and　jointly　contribute　to　the　cultural　prosperity　of　Xianning．　（Lu　Dunxi）
