The　first　selection　of　famous　restaurants，　dishes　and　desserts　was　officially　launched　in　Xianning　on　March　18th．

The　theme　of　this　selection　is　＂Tasting　Xianning，　the　city　of　osmanthus　fragrans　and　the　city　of　hot　spring＂．　The　aim　is　to　base　on　the　advantages　of　local　characteristics　of　Xianning，　taking　food　as　a　medium，　through　romantic　travel，　calling　on　the　general　public　and　foreign　tourists　to　taste　the　unique　charm　of　Xianning　food　with　the　tip　of　their　tongue，　and　promote　the　high－quality　development　of　Xianning　catering　industry．

The　selection　time　is　from　March　to　November．　Based　on　the　principle　of　＂open　solicitation，　county－level　preliminary　competition　and　city－level　final＂，　the　selection　will　be　carried　out　justly，　practically　and　frugally　according　to　the　different　regional　characteristics，　customs　and　traditional　cuisines　in　different　parts　of　the　city，　in　strict　compliance　with　the　relevant　provisions　of　the　Food　Safety　Law　of　the　People＇s　Republic　of　China　and　the　Anti－Food　Waste　Law　of　the　People＇s　Republic　of　China．　Through　industry　organizations，　citizen　participation，　platform　promotion，　expert　review，　skills　competition　and　other　ways，　it　makes　sure　that　these　selected　famous　restaurants，　dishes　and　desserts　with　distinct　characteristics，　as　well　as　theme　banquet　will　be　recognized　by　the　public　and　the　market．

During　the　event，　food　tasting，　food　map　drawing，　and　platform　promotion　will　be　adopted　to　show　Xianning＇s　food　culture　and　delicacies　to　the　general　public　and　tourists．　The　general　public　and　consumers　can　actively　participate　in　voting　to　select　the　traditional　Xianning　characteristic　food　that　has　wide　market　recognition，　fully　enables　the　development　of　the　catering　industry，　has　the　cultural　heritage　of　Xianning　local　food，　and　meets　the　standards　of　healthy　and　green　food．　（Xianning　Daily／Zhen　Qiang）
