May　12　marked　the　17th　National　Disaster　Prevention　and　Mitigation　Day．　Xianning　Municipal　Bureau　of　Natural　Resources　and　Urban－Rural　Development，　in　collaboration　with　multiple　units，　organized　and　carried　out　a　geological　disaster　emergency　drill　in　the　Chezhan　Road　Community　of　Yong＇an　Sub－district，　Xian＇an　District，　to　test　the　emergency　response　capacity　for　sudden　geological　disasters　and　enhance　the　public＇s　awareness　of　disaster　prevention　and　avoidance．　A　total　of　50　people，　including　sub－district　and　community　staff　and　the　public，　participated　in　the　drill，　simulating　the　entire　process　of　rapid　response　and　safe　evacuation　in　the　dangerous　situation　of　a　landslide．

＂Attention！　There　is　a　landslide，＂　the　drill　simulated　a　landslide　risk　caused　by　continuous　heavy　rainfall．　The　community　monitor　immediately　issued　a　warning　signal　and　rang　the　gong　to　warn．　At　9：20，　12　people　from　4　threatened　households　evacuated　in　an　orderly　manner　along　the　pre－determined　routes．　The　security　team　quickly　sealed　off　the　dangerous　area，　the　rescue　team　assisted　in　evacuating　the　stranded　people，　and　the　medical　team　provided　on－site　treatment　for　the　slightly　injured　people．　The　command　center　activated　the　geological　disaster　emergency　response　plan，　and　all　teams　collaborated　efficiently．　After　analysis　and　judgment，　it　was　confirmed　that　the　landslide　was　stabilizing．　The　commander　announced　the　lifting　of　the　alert　and　the　drill　was　successfully　concluded．

This　entire　drill　lasted　for　one　hour　and　covered　key　links　such　as　early　warning　release，　evacuation　of　the　masses，　treatment　of　the　injured，　and　reporting　of　the　disaster　situation，　achieving　the　safe　evacuation　of　all　personnel．

This　drill　not　only　enhanced　the　practical　skills　of　the　grassroots　emergency　response　teams，　but　also　strengthened　the　public＇s　awareness　of　taking　the　initiative　to　avoid　risks，　which　has　laid　a　solid　foundation　for　building　a　disaster　prevention　system　that　is　＂responsive　and　efficient　in　handling＂．　（Xianning　Daily／Wang　Xinzhuo）
