On September 25th, when the reporter walked along Yinquan Avenue in the urban area, she could already smell the sweet and refreshing fragrance of osmanthus. A few osmanthus trees by the roadside were quietly blooming, and golden and tiny flowers were hidden among the green leaves.
The blooming of osmanthus is extremely sensitive to climatic conditions. Osmanthus flowers need to go through a continuous period of relatively low temperature to bloom, at the same time, air humidity also has a significant impact on the flowering rhythm. Due to the fact that the average temperature in the city during the same period this year is higher than that of previous years and the precipitation is less, the initial flowering period of osmanthus has been delayed.
The flower buds of several varieties such as golden osmanthus, silver osmanthus and red osmanthus have entered the expansion period and are about to bloom in a concentrated manner. A staff member of the municipal meteorological bureau said, "as the weather gets cooler, it is expected that in the first half of October, osmanthus flowers will bloom in large areas, ushering in the best viewing period".
As the "Hometown of Osmanthus in China", the city has formed a complete industrial chain of osmanthus, covering planting, processing and cultural and creative industries. Specialty products such as osmanthus essential oil and osmanthus rice wine are highly favored by the market. It coincides with the approaching National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, the city carefully planned nearly a hundred cultural and tourism events, sincerely inviting tourists from all directions to come and enjoy the osmanthus scenery, smell its fragrance and taste its charm, and spend a colorful and fragrant holiday together.
