On　the　afternoon　of　May　21st，　the　awarding　ceremony　of　the　Gateball　Competition　of　the　Fifth　National　Senior　Citizens＇　Sports　and　Fitness　Conference　was　held　at　Xianning　Gateball　Center．

After　four　days　of　378　intense　and　exciting　competitions，　a　total　of　633　elderly　athletes　from　36　teams　across　the　country　vied　with　each　other　and　fought　tenaciously．　The　final　rankings　for　each　event　were　determined．　In　the　men＇s　five－a－side　event，　the　Jiangxi　team　and　the　Fujian　team　won　the　first　prize．　The　first　prize　in　the　women＇s　five－a－side　event　was　won　by　the　Anhui　team　and　the　Jiangxi　team．　The　first　prize　of　the　mixed　doubles　competition　was　won　by　the　Shenzhen　team　and　the　Xianning　team．　All　36　teams　were　awarded　the　Sportsmanship　Award．

The　conference　is　one　of　the　highest－profile　and　largest－scale　comprehensive　sports　events　for　the　elderly　in　the　country．　This　year＇s　conference，　with　the　theme　of　＂Silver　Age　Fitness　Showcases　Style，　Health　and　Pleasure　Share　Happiness＂，　has　set　up　14　＂elderly－friendly＂　exchange　and　display　projects，　holding　respectively　in　15　cities　across　the　country．　Following　its　successful　hosting　of　the　gateball　competition　of　the　4th　National　Senior　Citizens＇　Sports　and　Fitness　Conference　in　2023，　Xianning　is　once　again　hosting　a　gateball　exchange　event　this　year．　It　has　become　the　only　city　to　host　the　gateball　event　for　two　consecutive　sessions．　（Xianning　Daily／Zhao　Xian）
