Tongcheng Jilong Mountain mining area fluorite mine survey project successfully passed the field acceptance and was rated as excellent grade by the expert group of Hubei geological survey fund management center on September 11. The mine area is estimated to contain 520,000 tons of fluorite ore, up to the medium scale, the first fluorite mining area in Xianning.

The discovery of this mine area is another major breakthrough in ore prospecting in our city. By the end of 2019, there were only 11 fluorite mines in Hubei province, including 1 large one, 1 medium one and 9 small ones.

Fluorite, with the main ingredient of calcium fluoride (CaF2), is a strategic scarce mineral in China, widely used in new energy, new materials and other strategic emerging industries and national defense, military, nuclear industry, chemical industry, metallurgy, building materials and other fields.

According to professionals from the fourth brigade of Hubei Geological Survey Bureau, because of the phosphorescence effect, fluorite can give off light at night. Since ancient times, it has been an extremely precious mineral, which is called "the Night Pearl".
