　　Yesterday, the reporter visited the Quality and Technology Supervision Center in Chibi, and was informed that the "Yangloudong brick tea (hole tea)" had been approved as the National Geographic Indication Protection Product.

　　According to the introduction, the National Geographic Indication Protection Products refer to the products that are produced in a special area, examined and approved to be named with the geographical names, with their qualities, reputations and other peculiarities essentially depending on the natural factors and human factors in their producing areas. And the geographic indication protection products should be applied by the local government, inspected by provincial qualitative inspect branch, approved by the State Quality Inspection Administration, and protected by regional quality inspection agencies. The protected products will utilize a national special geographical indication, which provides an "ID card" and an "amulet" for the product’s best-selling in the domestic market and entering and occupying the international market.

　　Yangloudong lies in Chibi City, 30 kilometers from the city center. It has long been the production region of tea since the Tang Dynasty( 618--907 A.D.) and is the hometown of Chinese blue brick tea. Approved as the National Geographic Indication Protection Product, the Yangloudong brick tea (hole tea) marked that Chibi, even Xianning has achieved the breakthrough of zero in the field of landmark product, and also laid a firm foundation for the brick tea industry and the leapfrog development of the local characteristic economy in Chibi.
