Located in Tongshan County of Hubei Province, with a height of 1,657 meters, Jiugong Mountain is in the middle of Mufu Mountain which is at the board of Hubei and Jiangxi Provinces. Known as a national AAAA level scenic spot and national natural reserve, Jiugong Mountain is the national key units of cultural relics protection because of its world famous King Chuang burial–---tomb of Li Zicheng, a historical character in the Qing Dynasty and died in Jiugong Mountain.
Featured not only with the magical and sweet style of mountains in Southern China, but also the sublime and perilous, miraculous and serene element of Northland scenery, Jiugong Mountain is thus called Fairy Mountain.
The Burial of King Chuang is in the Xiaoyue Mountain (also named Huangzhu Mountain) which is in the Niuji Range of Jiugong Mountain.
Its actual residence is in Gaohu village of Tongshan Moutain, 3 kilometers away from the protection zone. The main buildings include a gatehouse, a tomb and a museum.
Zhenjun Temple: It is lying on the top of Cloud Lake Phoenix Valley, facing the Xianglu Peak. With a history of 780 years, it is the only preserved ancient building which was awarded by six emperor and the well-known Taoism priest –Zhang Daoqing’s remains had been protected for 680 years here which was ruined in the Taipingtianguo Movement
Shilong Ditch: It is the main scenic spot of Jiugong mountain with 7 kilometers in length, lying on the north slop on Jiugong Mountain, which consists of million of stone steps throughout. It is an original forest with upper and lower parts and is known as “the Treasure of Jiugong Mountain”.
